Inside the Ibiza DJ Trip: 5 Days, 5 Themes
From 17 to 21 July, a small group of DJs traded their home setups for a villa in Ibiza, for an exclusive, pro-level DJ experience — brought to life by Studio Ibiza and Selected Grooves. Five intensive days, three tutors, and one goal: leave with material you can actually use to get booked.
Edward Van den Bulck
Founder and tutor. DJ and producer with 20+ years behind the decks, known as Selected Grooves.

As one participant put it afterward:
"We've experienced so many beautiful things. Had deep conversations, built connections. Enjoyed the music. A truly unique experience."

5 Themes, 3 Tutors
The week was built around five core pillars, each one building on the last:
- Track Selection & Musical Identity — cutting through trends to find your actual sound
- Mixing, Flow & Set Architecture — building sets with a real narrative arc
- Sound, Gear & Creative Control — staying comfortable under pressure, on any setup
- Performance, Presence & Mindset — stage confidence that holds up through real mistakes
- Branding & Personal Positioning — turning your identity into a brand promoters take seriously

What You Take Home
This wasn't a week of theory for theory's sake. Every participant went home with tangible, usable material:
- A Career Proof Set — a recorded, performance-ready set with a written energy-curve analysis comparing what you planned to what you actually played
- A 15-Track Identity Crate — your library distilled down to the tracks that define your sound, reworked for warm-up, headline, closing, beach, and club
- A Personal Edit — your own intro/outro or loop edit, produced and tested live
- A Brand Identity & Press Kit — artist name, one-line pitch, mood board, bio, and one-sheet
- A Marketing Plan — a 90-day content calendar, platform strategy, and a written promoter outreach pitch
- Recorded, Reviewed Performances — footage of your booth presence with individual feedback
- A No-Hype Career Roadmap — a realistic path forward that doesn't depend on going viral

Beyond the Booth
The program was intensive, but the week wasn't just about headphones and CDJs. Long villa dinners, café moments, and a real taste of the island's nightlife rounded out the experience — because understanding Ibiza's culture is part of understanding the music.

The evenings offered a look at the island's world-famous club scene — from the neon lights of Cova Santa to the residency boards announcing the summer's headliners.
And of course, a trip to Ibiza isn't complete without a walk through the old town, a sunset by the pool, and a stop under the lights of Hï Ibiza.
The Takeaway
Five days, five themes, and a group of DJs who arrived with a laptop full of tracks and left with a career proof set, a brand, and a plan. That's the difference between a holiday with some DJing on the side and a genuinely structured, pro-level experience — built by people who've spent years around Ibiza's booths and its business.
