Student showcase: from studio to club booth — our students played Traum
There's a big difference between practising in a studio and playing in a club. The booth feels different, the sound is different, and suddenly you're hearing your own mix on a proper sound system. That's exactly the experience we wanted to give our students.

In August, they had Traum to themselves for an evening.
For months they worked in small groups on the fundamentals: beatmatching, structure and technique, but above all on what always sits at the heart of DJ Producer Academy, which is selection. Knowing why you play a record, when to play it, and how to build a story. At Traum, all of that came together in a real club setting.
We deliberately chose a showcase without an audience. It let the students focus entirely on their sets, get used to the booth and the sound, and learn to work with the monitors and the room, without the extra pressure of a packed floor. That comes later.
What stayed with us most was how the students encouraged each other. First-set nerves, tips passed along between sets, and afterwards that look of "I want to do this again", but next time with a crowd.
A huge thank you to Traum for opening up the club to us, and of course to our students. This was a big step towards your first real gig.
Ready to take that step yourself? Come and see us at our next selection day.
