From the Classroom to the Booth: A DJ Producer Academy Showcase at Kokorico
There's a moment every DJ instructor waits for — the one where a student steps behind the decks in a real club and you realize the hours of practice have quietly turned into something that looks a lot like confidence.

That's exactly what happened at Kokorico, where one of our DJ Producer Academy students took to the booth for a live showcase set, sharing the stage with our own teachers.
The Setting
Kokorico needs no introduction to anyone who knows the island's nightlife heritage — a room with decades of history, a Red Bull backdrop, and a crowd that doesn't hold back its energy. It's an intimidating place to play your first proper set, and an even better one to prove you belong there.
The Student Set
Headphones around the neck, hands steady on the mixer, eyes locked on the waveform — our student worked the Pioneer CDJs with the kind of composure we spend months building in training: riding transitions, and trusting the track selection over flashy tricks. It's the philosophy we teach from day one at DJPA — music selection and feel come before showmanship — and watching it translate from the studio to a live floor is exactly the payoff we train for.
